Cevapi

Bosnia's national dish, cevapi, looks like a sausage made from minced beef or lamb. It is served in packs of eight or ten, with raw onions, sour cream, and wheat pancakes.

Begova Corba

Slow-cooked chicken mixed with vegetables and sour cream, served in a ceramic bowl and topped with creamy stew. Also known as Bey's Soup, this dish is a traditional Ottoman dish.

Baklava

Although not traditionally Bosnian, the sweet dessert filled with nuts and honey can be found all over the country. Similar snacks also have their origins in the Ottoman Empire.

Burek

A common snack in Balkan bakeries, it is made with filo pastry filled with minced meat, spinach, cheese or potato filling. Bosnian burek can be purchased as a single piece or as a large pie.

Klepe

If you like ravioli, you will also like klepe. Klepe is a Bosnian dumpling filled with beef, lamb or cheese. The dish is served with garlic sauce or yogurt.

Roast Lamb

Bosnians love meat, especially grilled lamb. If you go to Bosnia, you will often come across roadside restaurants selling grilled lamb.
