Renaissance Festival

The Renaissance Festival recreates the reality of the old Koprivnica inhabitants of medieval Croatia through historical facts of late medieval Europe, performances of traditional knights from Koprivnica, Podravina and Croatia, various musical performances and crafts, most of which are from the 15th century.

Rijeka Festival

The celebrations begin in mid-January and continue through February, with a series of parades and celebrations. It begins with local men dressed in animal skins ringing giant cowbells to ward off evil spirits. The festival is listed by UNESCO.

The Moresca sword dance is a proud tradition of Korcula Island. Originally performed to protest the return of the Moorish occupation, this fighting dance is now unique to this small Adriatic island, and there are nine local dance groups dedicated to keeping the tradition alive.
